n the practice of Ayurveda we observe nature to learn about ourselves. If we look to nature for clues and are able to let go of the social or unconscious patterns that run us, we will learn to open our senses and wake up to what we can do to live in harmony throughout the year. In this time of the year we can minimize the colds, flu, and respiratory ailments that many have come to regard as “normal” in the winter season.

If you get out of bed early on December 10th you can see the moon turn blood-red during a total lunar eclipse between 04:06 and 04:57 AM

Where to watch the lunar eclipse on Hawaii
The lunar eclipse will be visible everywhere in the united states before and during sunrise on December 10th. The moon will be already low on the western sky so the best place to watch would be any Hawaiian islands west coast. The moon is between 28° and 17° (hold out your arm straight in front of you and make a fist.. One fist is about 10°) above the horizon during the eclipse, so even if there is a mountain in the way, it might not be a bad thing. Think about how a red moon above Mauna Kea will look like!

Upholds Lower Court’s Rulings Requiring New USDA Approval Decision And Rigorous Review of the Crop’s Impacts
Litigation Over USDA’s Interim Approval of Planting Continues

While Sugar used to be King in Hawaii, the US now looks to commercial farming of corn and beets to provide the demand for food sweetners. Both beets and corn have been genetically modified to create patentable seed crops. Ironically much of the GMO seed is tested and developed in Hawaii on the precious remaining open ag land.

Because of cross contamination with natural beets and corn, the use of these genetically modified crops is fought by farmers using conventional farming methods and open source seeds. In addition, the heavy application of herbicides is indicated as a health risk for both farm workers and soil health.

HAWAII (HawaiiHealthGuide) Hawaii residents are protected by laws and regulations that make it easy for hospitals visits to patients by spouses, children, family and extended family members, non-family members, domestic partners (unmarried couples of either same or opposite sex).

However it is always a good idea to let your loved ones know your intentions in writing. Reading and discussing an Advance Health-Care Directive creates a talking point with your loved ones to discuss your thoughts and beliefs around death, or extended illness which can be beneficial and bring peace to the entire family, give clear instructions to the attending health care practitioners, and guidance to others involved.

The best time to learn about an advance Health-Care Directive, is when you DON'T need it. Here is a copy to edit for your own personal use.
